Promobot opens R&D center in Far East to create hyper-realistic skin

MOSCOW, Mar 2 (PRIME) -- Russian robot maker Promobot is opening a research and development division, a laboratory, and an office in the Far Eastern city of Vladivostok, where it plans to create a hyper-realistic synthetic skin, a company representative told PRIME on Tuesday.

“Promobot is opening a research center and an office in Vladivostok. This is a second office of the company in Russia and a fourth in the world. The Far Eastern branch is focused on development for humanoid robots Robo-C -- creation of artificial skin and 3D models of androids to manufacture robots further,” the spokesperson said.

The office, which was financed, among others, by 200 million rubles from the Far East High Technology Fund, will host a center of 3D modeling of humanoid robots, a laboratory working with polymers, which will work on a hyper-realistic artificial skin, and a representative office for cooperation with the Asia Pacific region.
